Allgemeinmedizin und evidenzbasierte Versorungsforschung

At the Medical University of Graz, we pursue a translational research approach to the general topic "sustainable health research." Our staff conduct research in three important areas: conceptional enhancement/advancement of learning content in the medicine degree program, evidence-based medicine and health services research with an emphasis on making primary care more attractive in the area of general practice.

General practice and teaching

Since the longitudinal and comprehensive anchoring of general practice content during the entire degree program is an important guarantor of success in counteracting the future shortage of general practitioners, a large number of new teaching concepts including test formats have been introduced since the institute was founded. They have been implemented internally with clinical physicians in different disciplines and externally with general practitioners, and a large number of diploma theses have been supervised.

Forschungsschwerpunkt Allgemeinmedizin

Health services research/management

The health services research team conducts more detailed investigations of everyday health services and develops new approaches to improving health care at the level of primary care. The emphasis is on developing projects that increase health competence and strengthen primary care. The team supplies important foundations for political concept papers and decisions by stakeholders in the healthcare system.
